i spoke the words but never gave a thought to what they all could mean;

Every now and again, I stumble across words I have a complete dislike for. I think I’ll tag them in posts so I never forget just how much they annoy me.

The first two, due to their overuse in the media.

1. Pilgrim
2. Reveller

If you read any article about WYD, you’ll see #1, or an article about NYE, you’ll see #2. 100% money back guaranteed. It’s like every journalist has lost their thesaurus at the same time.

somewhat golden like the afternoons, we used to spend before you got too cool;

Nothing like a quick two-night stopover in ice cold Melbourne to break up the end of the week.

I had to jetset over there for a few work meetings, so packed Kirstie in my suitcase (because I love her heaps) and off we went (so she could visit her sister while I businessed it up).

It felt odd having a day of meetings (which turned out to be a morning meeting, late afternoon meeting, and evening food/drink meeting). I’m so used to working on the couch, working in bed, working in the car, working at the office. To actually don a pair of dress pants and a business shirt was quite an unusual moment.

Melbourne was freeeeeeezing. But the meetings were a success, and the trip was short but fun.

Upon arriving back we managed to squeeze in Al & Renee’s birthday dinner, where somehow Mark & I managed to swap fiancee’s for a few days (Kirstie wanted her engagement ring cleaned, so Emma suggested they do a swap). Because I love her heaps, I decided the various fiancee’s should be returned to their rightful partners by Monday (or perhaps when we were next to see each other).

Emma & Mark came back to our place for some awesome guitar hero and singstar action until the wee hours.

Sunday wrapped up the non stop action packed few days with breakfast with the running crew, working while watching movies and then rounding out the evening with dinner with Matt & Mags which was fun times, except the 15 minute lattes :)

Now it’s back into the regular working week! Stay tuned for more frequent updates from your friendly neighbourhood updater.
